LBC Educational Consulting grew out of a need I saw in the alternative school program I taught in for 10 years. Students were barely coming to school because they did not see the relevance, and they were dealing with unresolved childhood trauma. The graduation rate among my at-promise students was low.<\/p>\n

When the therapist who gave group and individual therapy sessions left the program to pursue private practice, he left a void that needed to be filled, so I began creating lessons geared toward mental and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n

The title G.R.O.W. Time came to mind as I tried to name the class period, and I pondered how I wanted my students to grow. I wanted them to have a growth mindset, be resilient, optimistic, and understand what it means to truly be wealthy in life, not just financially, so I turned G.R.O.W. into an acronym that stands for Growth, Resilience, Optimism, and Wealth. Every lesson within the G.R.O.W. Time curriculum is centered around these themes.<\/p>\n
